FEDERAL LEGISLATION

SSCAN’s national priorities focus on reducing the environmental harms done by our military; supporting the transition to clean, electric energy; and supporting healthy agriculture. Via our newsletter, we provide timely updates on the progress of bills that comprise our federal legislative priorities as well as information about how to contact our Senators and Congresspeople to support those priorities. STATE LEGISLATION

During the state legislative session, SSCAN provides timely updates on the progress of bills that comprise our legislative priorities through the State House and Senate. We work with cooperating organizations to provide information about ways that community members can get involved.  We especially encourage our followers to sign up for alerts from the 350WA Civic Action Team ( https://www.350wa.org/cat ) which details timely and important environmental actions.  During the legislative session, SSCAN also provides information about the voting record of legislators, specifically on bills that comprise our legislative priorities. 

You can also track House and Senate bills in the WA state legislature (as well as other states) by visiting the Plural Policy website. 

SEATTLE AND ENVIRONS

SSCAN works closely with numerous local organizations to educate our  community about ways to protect our South Seattle environment (and beyond!)
