On Thursday January 30, 2025, the Mt.Baker chapter of Meaningful Movies had the privilege of hosting a screening of Seattle Black Panthers: Fight for Justice and Peace at the Mt.Baker Community Club. The event was a tremendous success, as community members were able to attend in person and on zoom to witness the legacy, bravery, and perseverance of the Seattle Black Panther’s. In attendance were the film’s director Rick Dupree and the Seattle Black Panther’s co-founder Elmer Dixon.

The documentary, directed by Rick DuPree, offers a nuanced portrayal of the Black Panther Party’s revolutionary efforts, debunking myths and capturing the essence of their mission to empower marginalized communities. The film and the discussion afterwards took us through the remarkable journey of the Seattle Black Panthers.
